The Deep & Hidden Things

I'm participating in a wonderful Beth Moore Small Group on the book of Daniel and have been so challenged and blessed by the study of God's Word! I wanted to share this passage of Daniel 2 with you because I felt it was anointed. Daniel says this to the Lord when, after a night of fasting and prayer, He reveals to him the Dream of King Nebuchednezzar, whom no wise man could interpret. King "N" (whew) had vowed to cut into pieces all of the wise men since none could both interpret and tell him what his dream was. The Lord gave Daniel a vision explaining the dream while he slept and Daniel awoke with these praises on his lips:

20"Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
wisdom and power are his.

21 He changes times and seasons;
he sets up kings and deposes them.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to the discerning.

22 He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what lies in darkness,
and light dwells with him.

23 I thank and praise you, O God of my fathers:
You have given me wisdom and power,
you have made known to me what we asked of you,
You have made known to us the dream of the King."

Huskies, Huskies Everywhere!

The Kuy's husky pups are growing up so fast - we've had a blast playing with them over the last 7 weeks and watching them grow so big! Lydia and Dararith are looking for homes for the sweet pups and have started a blogspot for their Kennel, Dog River Kennels. If you're interested in one of the pups, you can check them out at www.dogriverkennels.blogspot.com! Here I am a few days ago with Apple, a grey and white girl:

Speaking of, we'll be bringing home our OWN husky pup from Oregon one week from today!!! I'm itching to get our Emma girl, who, ironically, is one day older than the Kuy's pups :) We already have a basket full of toys and treats, and two beds - you can tell she's our first dog-child ;) Here is a photo of Emma with Kenny's mom...we haven't seen her yet because she's in Oregon, but Jeanette has been able to visit her! We'll keep you inundated with Emma photos...I promise!

"One is Silver, and the Other Gold"

Maybe you've heard the old song, "Make new friends and keep the old...one is silver, and the other gold." Then perhaps you'll understand my sentiment when I say: at last, I broke down and bought a new Bible! My precious study bible has been with me since 1999 – a gift from the church I attended at age 13 when I completed a scripture memory and bible study course. It has been worn by years of searching is pages for knowledge, uncovering truth, and growing in love with my Savior. Its pages are scribbled and scrawled with verses that shouted to me, and dog-eared to special chapters. Alas, the binding has loosened from love and Philippians through the index fall out almost every time I open its dear cover. Pale gold on the cover is the name “Jennifer J Weber” – further incentive to move on to a new Bible as it is no longer my name! As I retired my faded, brown Bible to the shelf last night, I smiled thinking of what it had walked me through. The mean middle school years when I felt as if the Lord Jesus was my only friend. Those awkward high school years when I searched it’s pages for meaning, because I just wanted to do the right thing. My move to Nashville at 18, when I followed the wisdom of the Psalms (underlined in bright orange) when the Lord spoke into my heart and called me into music ministry.

The Life Application NIV Study Bible that sits on my kitchen table now seems so familiar, and yet so foreign. Certainly, it is an aesthetic upgrade (my friends know what a sucker I am for packaging) and the name is correct (Jennifer Sinclair). Still, I know it will take me a while to get past the pristine pages that are near impossible to separate at first, the crisp turn of the pages, and the sturdy spine that is not yet broken in; but I rejoice in the years to come that this Bible will see me through. I am falling more in love with the Lord as He continues to reveal himself to me in new ways - I’m learning to be a student of His Word and it is changing my life!

A newlywed, a new name, a new Bible….and a new hunger for God’s incredible Word; I'd better hold on for the ride!

My old faithful :)

My beautiful new Bible!

A Cupcakery, if you will...

My sweet, sweet friend Mary Kathleen has recently endeavored to open her own cupcake bakery, Hoorah! (I've already placed my order for peanut butter chocolate ones!) I was more than thrilled when she enlisted my hand in design to create her logo ...and have been dabbling in some ideas for her tonight. Thought I'd post a few and get some feedback :) I know they look a lot alike, but there are subtle adjustments to each - Enjoy!

** So update: the design has been chosen, and a menu made :) check out http//www.mkcupcakes.com!
