Micah's Nursery

I finally got around to finishing up the nursery and taking some pictures...
so consider this your official tour-de-photos of Micah's nursery!

Sweet Jenny Lind crib

Here's the oak dresser we're using as a changing table as well

Love this cozy area for rocking and nursing

Nursery bedding...we really are "jumping for joy" :-)

Aunt Amy made this beautiful mobile for his nursery from some fabric I picked out!

My all-time favorite smelling baby products...I love Thymes!

I hung up my dad's (Grampa's) dedication outfit that Grandma Faith passed down to me. Micah's middle name, Daniel, is after my sweet daddy.

Bookshelf, etc...

Our burgeoning stash of cloth diapers! I'll start him in them after the first month or so...

Still in love with my Petunia Picklebottom Diaper Bag! It fits so much :)

This baby boy is a little spoiled...don't you think? We sure have been blessed!

Onesies!

Close-up of the bird mobile

This boppy cover makes me smile!

All packed and ready to head to the hospital any time!

Chalkboard in the nursery

Baby swing in the family room

Baby things are taking over our kitchen, too! :)

We're ready to meet you, Micah Daniel!!

{36 Weeks}

{Month 9}

How Far Along: 36 weeks!

Favorite Maternity Clothes: H&M Skinny jeans, tanks with cardigans…and my comfy, awesome Keen sandals!

Best moment this month: Finding out he was head-down and measuring just right!

Movement: I love watching little elbows, knees and feet roll across my tummy…he is so precious and I can’t wait to kiss these sweet little baby parts!

Food Cravings/Aversions: No aversions. Craving PB&J, shrimp scampi, and iced (decaf) coconut lattes a lot! Not together ;-)

What I miss: Still missing sushi and a Jersey Mike’s club sub!

Sleep: I’m surprised that I’m still sleeping so well and am VERY thankful I am! Getting up about twice a night to use the restroom and then going back to sleep with no problem. The only negatives about sleep are the charlie-horse cramps I get in my calves and my pelvis really aches throughout the night and when I wake up in the morning. Par for the course. :-)

What I am looking forward to: We’re going to be meeting him SO SOON!!! I can’t wait for them to place my firstborn son on my chest right after he’s born and just stare at him – and I’m especially looking forward to bringing him home with us!

Belly Changes: This little boy is such a wiggler and he makes my stomach look so mis-shapen sometimes! And my belly button is totally flat. I am thankful I don’t have any stretch marks…yet. ;-)

Symptoms: Braxton hicks, mood-swings, hungry…sweet-tooth!

Prayer for this month: Lord, I know you are preparing us in these last moments as we anticipate Micah’s arrival. I can feel the changes you are making in my heart and the ways you are drawing Kenny and I closer together and more in love as we prepare to parent together. Thank you or your faithfulness to us throughout this season of pregnancy – we
trust you with the details of Micah’s arrival, because your ways are always

perfect!

I am one happy mama to be meeting my baby boy soon!

Maternity Photos

Super excited about the maternity photos our friend Leah Robbins took for us this past week! We couldn't love them more :-) Kenny and I are still deciding which ones to order for ourselves, but in the meantime, you can drop by Leah's blog to check out some of her favorites!

I'll post some more, soon!

P.S. Can you believe we're 5 1/2 weeks away from our due date?! Hoorah!!!

{32 Weeks}

{Month 8}

How Far Along: 32 weeks...we're getting closer to meeting this sweet blessing!

Favorite Maternity Clothes: Yoga pants & leggings…and sweat pants ;-)

Best moment this month: Too many to recount…especially two beautiful baby showers thrown by dear friends- a sweet time of celebrating God’s faithfulness and goodness to our family!

Movement: Less jabs and more rolls and elbows/knees sticking out! At our 32 week appointment, little man was measuring “right on track” and is already head down…what an overachiever! ;-)

Food Cravings/Aversions: Ice cream... in any form. Milk. Waffles with fruit. Whipped Cream. Iced Decaf Lattes!

What I miss: Sushi. And I had a random craving for sangria :-) (Note to self: must make in the Summer!)

Sleep: Sleeping great, so thankful. It’s just a matter of time before my precious sleep is interrupted by an even MORE precious baby boy!

What I am looking forward to:
Watching Kenny become a dad, watching my parents become grandparents, and my brother become an uncle. So many wonderful firsts!

Belly Changes: I'm getting pretty big :)

Symptoms: Braxton hicks, out the wazoo. Super good excuse to put my feet up and enjoy a Dairy Queen blizzard…I mean, a tall glass of nutritious water.

Prayer for this month:
Lord, our hearts are overflowing with thankfulness. Our hope is in You all day long and our desire is to trust You more and more as we journey towards parenthood. Continue to work in our marriage and in our hearts individually as we prepare to lead and guide Micah. For Your glory!

Soli Deo Gloria

{28 Weeks}

{Month 7}

How Far Along: 28 weeks

Favorite Maternity Clothes: Enjoying the few maternity pants I
purchased, but since I’m carrying so low, sometimes I still feel like
they cut into my hips/belly…so I’m usually pretty happy to get home
and change into “comfies” :-)

Best moment this month: Feeling Micah’s hiccups for the first time –
I’m pretty sure he’s the cutest baby in the world ;-)

Movement: It is so reassuring to feel him move all the time – I love
knowing that he’s okay every time I feel a little roll or kick.

Food Cravings/Aversions: I finally feel like my taste buds are totally
back to normal, and I’m craving Indian again…score! I haven’t had any
aversions recently and my appetite is still up…I gained 7 pounds at my
28-week appointment, but didn’t feel too bad about that since my
overall weight gain seems reasonable (15 lbs?)… and I’m eating
well! Hey, if my body is telling me I need more nourishment, I’m not
going to argue with it! ;-)

What I miss: Lunchmeat… a Jersey Mike’s Club Sub sounds so decadent!

Sleep: My hips and pelvis are beginning to ache at night no matter
what position I sleep in, which makes it hard to fall back asleep when
I get up to use the restroom….and it’s totally worth it!! :-D

What I am looking forward to: Celebrating the anticipation of Micah’s
arrival with friends and family at upcoming showers!

Belly Changes: I’ve really grown the most between 24 and 28 weeks…my
belly button is completely flat and I keep catching myself in the
mirror and thinking, “Whoa, I am really pregnant!”

Symptoms: Back aches, Braxton hicks, increased appetite and complete
happiness!

Prayer for this month: Kenny and I have begun to pray for the labor
and delivery. We know that we can do all things through Christ who
strengthens us (Phil 4:13) and have been asking for an extra measure
of strength, courage and wisdom for that special day. We also pray for
Micah’s health and wellness throughout L&D, for our doctor and nurses,
and possible complications. My heart lightens when I give these
details over to the Lord and allow His peace to cover my fears!

Nana's 83rd Birthday!

My beautiful nana turned 83 years old on January 24th! Mom and I threw her a brunch with some of her friends and had so much fun celebrating her life. Nana is such a gift to everyone who knows her - truly Christ's hands extended, full of grace, compassion, joy and spirit!

Thank the Lord for genetics - my mom and nana are the MOST beautiful :-)

Love these women!

Aunt LuAnn found a practical use for the party favors...

I love you, Nana, and praise the Lord for your life. I am so blessed to be your granddaughter!

West Coast in the Winter

We really enjoyed our time in Oregon visiting Kenny's family and enjoying God's creation...even if that did include a winter storm with 115 mph wind gusts off the coast. ;-) It was a rainy and windy week, but we loved visiting with family, eating delicious fish, and drinking lots of (decaf, sigh) coffee!

We spent one day just driving up the coast and I finally had a chance to see Cannon Beach, which was spectacular. I could seriously move to Cannon City if I could pack up the fam and take them with us! It is the coolest little coastal town with tons of great restaurants and vibe-y stores, etc. Love.

We also stopped in Tillamook, OR to tour the cheese factory. I heart cheese.

And purchased some awesome blankets at the Pendleton outlet store, which was super exciting. Pendleton wool blankets are so cozy and we had been hoping to invest in some for a while...we got 3 blankets for what less than ONE would have cost. I was pumped :-)

Isn't the Oregon coast stunning?

Leah and Auggie, Jeanett's labs, came along for the ride!

Jeanette threw us a beautiful baby shower while we were there, too! I just loved meeting her friends and visiting with everyone. I was truly overwhelmed by their generosity and kindness towards us...it was a great night!

Melody MADE me this awesome tote bag for baby things!

Kenny was so excited about this Oregon Duck's sweat pant-suit...can you tell? Micah has a pretty sweet Duck's wardrobe now...

Grandma Ione and Aunt Karen (Kenny's dad's mom and sister)

We also spend a great afternoon with some of our favorite people, Jason and Kara Enright...oh, and their too-cute-for-words little boys: Trey and Brohdy! We ate at the Portland Bagel Co., and Kara and I had panic attacks watching the fathers of our children walk to the edge of tall cliffs during a storm to take pictures. gulp. We drank coffee in the car ;-)

Kenny took a couple of 24 week photos of me (and Micah) on Sunset Beach in Coos Bay, his hometown.

And this one on Cannon Beach at 25 weeks :-)

It is always such a treat to visit Oregon...it really is God's country! We're looking forward to visiting again later this year...with Micah in tow :-)
